Edelweiss Private Academy offers Grades K - 8 programs to students with autism, learning disabilities, anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD and students who experience other academic and/or social difficulties in main stream education.
In order for the admission to be completed, each student is evaluated and recommendations are offered to parents/guardians about the best suitable grade level and programming.
Note that Edelweiss Private Academy obtains an academic and behavioural history from your child's previous school to help determine placement and programming. Disclosure forms will be sent via email after an application is received.
Parents/guardians are encouraged to provide all assessments and documentation that could help the staff become better acquainted with the student.
EPA enrolment is limited to ensure small teacher to student ratios. Students are placed according to skill and grade level, while also considering how best to facilitate social growth and development among peers. Once you complete the Application for Admission, we will contact you to further discuss placement and enrolment.
You've Applied! What Comes Next..
Thank you for your interest in Edelweiss Private Academy! Once you have filled out and submitted the Application online, here are the next steps you can expect:
Once EPA has received your Application, we will contact you to set up an initial parent meeting to discuss any questions you may have and to learn more about your child. The meeting will be with our Principal, Mrs. Heather Wyatt. We provide options for a phone call, zoom meeting or in person tour.
Once the meeting is complete, and you communicate your interest in proceeding with registration, we will ask for written permission to contact the learner's previous school for a behavioural and academic history.
We will then ask for your written permission to pass along your registration documents to our Intake Coordinator at TIPES, our sister company. Please note every new student at EPA, is required to have a baseline assessment conducted by TIPES prior to confirming enrollment.
The TIPES Intake Coordinator will contact you to schedule and complete the parent/caregiver interview meeting. This meeting will be approximately 30 minutes - 1 hour and will be completed via phone or zoom.
The TIPES Intake Coordinator will book a 3 hour trial period at EPA for your child.
If successful, the Intake Coordinator will book a 1-3 hour direct assessment, please note this is billed through TIPES.
The Intake Coordinator will then communicate their recommendation and provide the report from the assessment.
